Fabric Wallpapers

Fabric wallpapers come under many different guises such as faux-suede, silks and grass cloth to name just a few. They are a true decendante of the original wall coverings - Tapestry - Wallpapers came about hundreds of years ago because many folk couldn't afford some of the huge tapestrys displayed by Royalty, which were used not only for decoration but for insulating homes. So the cheaper alternative was born.

They are in general more expensive than the popular printed offerings but provide a texture and warmth that is unsurpassed. It should be noted that many fabric wallpapers are not seamless because by its very nature there will be shading differences between drops. Fabrics are designed to be shown in panels and the natural diffences between the panels should be embraced, as this is the true beauty of them.
